Great time walking City of Beverly Hills – Government this morning at The The Beverly Hills Art Show! Phil Savenick, led the walk and talk, Kevin Lee Miller assisted, and Stephanie Lehrer and Sherry Berk Tedeschi shared Beverly Hills Historical Society info from the tent. The Beverly Hills Historical Society led us on a magical history tour of legendary Rodeo Drive and the City’s Golden Triangle. This FREE, 90-minute walking tour through Beverly Hills highlighted the history and architecture of the most famous small town in the world.
Noted historian, filmmaker, and Historical Society president Phil Savenick was our guide and Storyteller-in-Chief for this fascinating trip through Beverly Hills’ golden past.
The 29 stops on the tour included the former sites of the famous Brown Derby restaurant, celebrity night club Romanoff’s, and local Tiki hang-out The Luau. We visited landmarked architectural treasures including Paul William’s MCA Building, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Anderton Court, his only commercial design, and The Beverly Wilshire Hotel, made famous in the movie “Pretty Woman.” The tour also included the candy shop Edelweiss Chocolates that inspired the beloved chocolate factory episode of “I Love Lucy.” Great outdoor exercise, and inspiring information!
